The Rock Hill High School Band of Distinction is comprised of a group of dedicated young men and women who are musically talented and personally committed to excellence. The Band of Distinction has been a SCBDA Finalist in both 4A and 5A. The band earned the Bronze Medal in 2007, 2009, & 2013, the silver Medal in 2008, & 2010, the High Music award in 2008 & 2010 and were Upper State Champions in 2013. The Rock Hill Band has also been a regional finalist at Bands of America Regionals and Super Regionals.
The Rock Hill High School Marching Band’s 2024 program is entitled “In the Spotlight” and follows out celebrities are impacted by the spotlight of the paparazzi . The show features music by Lady Gaga, Brittney Spears, and others as well as original percussion music by Omar Carmenates. You can see this show in exhibition and competition at Nation Ford HS, the Olde English Festival of Bands, BandBeat presented by Carolina Crown, Band of American Coastal Carolina Regional and the SCBDA 5A State Championships.
